ABOUT BOYS DIVISION I

Boys Division I is a instructional division emphasizing good sportsmanship, the development of individual skills and the importance of teamwork. The primary goal in this division is fundementals (dribbling, passing etc).

Age requirements for Boys Division I are Six to Eight.

Boys division I season consists of about eight games no playoffs, usually beginning on the first weekend in January and ending in late February. Games are played on Saturdays between 8 AM and 5 PM. Usually a team plays only one game a weekend. However, on occasion, game scheduling may require a team to play an additional game on a weekday due the inclement weather. All games for this division will be played on 65 feet or less court with a goal height no greater than nine feet.

Teams may begin their practices after December 1st The times, frequency and locations of the practices are determined by CAA committee and/or a team's coach.

Boys Division I will be limited to man to man defense(no double teams or zone defenses allowed). No break away baskets are allowed(clear path to the goal). No block shoots and no scorekeeeper.
